Accessibility
Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use explainquantum. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we do
- Every interactive tool works with a keyboard, and has a written version on the same page.
- Long text sits on light reading panels with strong contrast.
- Animations stop if your device asks for reduced motion.
- Pages work from 360 pixels wide, and at 200% and 400% zoom.
- An automated accessibility check runs on every page before it goes live.
Compliance status
We believe this website meets WCAG 2.1 at level AA.
Known limitations
- We haven't yet tested the site with a real screen reader. We've checked the page structure and labels that screen readers rely on, but not the experience itself.
Other formats
If you need any page in another format, such as large print, plain text or audio, email support@explainquantum.com. Tell us which page and the format you need.
Tell us when something doesn't work
Email support@explainquantum.com and say which page and what went wrong. We aim to reply within five working days.
How we tested this website
- On 5 October 2026 we ran the axe automated checker on every page, after using every game, on a phone and on a laptop.
- We checked every page with a keyboard alone.
- On 11 October 2026 we checked every page at 200% and 400% zoom, and with the WCAG text spacing settings.
What we're doing to improve
The automated check runs on every page before each change goes live. Testing with a screen reader is next.
